Lawrence was born on 16 April 1920 in West Point,, Clay county,, Mississippi. He was the son of Lawrence Christopher Seery and Florence Emma Unger. He married Jacquline Hamlin in 1942. There were no children of this marrage.. Lawrence died on 24 April 1945 at age 25. Doodle was the engineer for B-29 Super Fortress #63 assigned to 459th Bombardment Squadron, 330th Bombardment Group stationed on Guam. His aircraft was observed going down over the open ocean, some 80 miles from Japan, after a bombing attack over Tachikawa, Japan during World War II. There were no survivors. The war ended about 3 months later on August 15, 1945..
He was nick named "doodle". I don't know the origin of the nick name.
