He married Mable Alberta Cathryn Unger in Tchula,, Holmes county,, Mississippi, on 18 June 1925. Lowell died on 24 January 1973 in Baton Rouge,, Louisiana, at age 71. His body was interred in Baton Rouge,, Louisiana, in Roselawn cemetery.
     Graduated Louisiana State University with a degree in agriculture. Chancellor, Alpha Zeta honorary Agriculture fraternity. Valedictorian, LSA. Worked nights for Standard Oil Company of LA while in college, after graduation continued to work for Standard Oil, Esso,Humble, & Exxon where he took early retirement. Became Administrator of First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge. Served as Deacon, Sunday School leader and Executive Board member. Was a Mason & Red Cross of Constatine.

His body was interred in Baton Rouge,, Louisiana, in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
     World War II U.S.Army service included headquarters of Army Intelligence at Budapest, Hungary.After discharge from the Army he was employed at Standard Oil Co. in Baton Rouge, He was in his junior year at LSU (majoring in government and economics) when he was killed in a traffic accident.
