Robert was born on 20 November 1921 in
Abbott,, Clay county,, Mississippi. He was the son of
Robert Franklin McFadden and
Mattie Lee Blankenship. He married
Olin Raphiel Savage in
1st Methodist church, West Point,, Clay county,, Mississippi, on 14 February 1948. Robert died on 24 November 1975 in
West Point,, Clay county,, Mississippi, at age 54. Robert was a very brittle diabetic which was the ultimate cause of his death. His body was interred on 26 November 1975 in
West Point,, Clay county,, Mississippi, in Greenwood Cemetery. Robert is buried in Section F-2 lot 33.
Robert Franklin (Jr.) McFadden was a nember of the Methodist Church. Robert left high school in 1939 after his 1st year, to go to work. His father had become ill and it was necessary that he help support the family. Robert suffered all his adult life from the effects of frost bite suffered while serving in the European theater during world war II. He was in the U.S.Army. Robert was assigned to the U.S. Infantry, after 4 months of basic training he was assigned as an ammunition bearer for 14 months. His final assignment was at Camp Swift, Texas as a field lineman. His Army serial numbr was 34 989 559.
