Nancy Ann Missouri Harris. Robert died in October 1849 in

There is some evidence that the P. in his name is for Pickens. We know that he bought 79.55 acres of land in Mississippi in January 1836. and added another 30 acres in February of 1836. Robert died intestate.
It is believed that Robert and the McElvanys of Gwinnett county, Georgia are kin. Robert is a possible brother to Samuel W. McElvany the father of John Sidney McElvany (b.1809). Robert possibly could be the son of John and Ruth McElvanyof Abbeville, S.C.. John died 1807 and left behind the following children. Robert, Elizabeth,Samuel W. , John Taylor, Margaret, and Narcissa.
Robert and Nancy had at least 11 children according to census figures (if all the children reported in their household are theirs).
